MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER AT 6 PM BY SUPERVISOR JIM MAZUR. ALL BOARD MEMBERS WERE PRESENT: EGELER, PAPES, GEERS, KESLING. AND, WE HAD FIVE GUEST ATTEND. MINUTES WERE APPROVED AS PRESENTED. SHERIFFS REPORT WAS GIVEN BY SHERIFF KIM COLE. 27 CALLS IN THE TOWNSHIP FOR THE MONTH. COUNTY COMMISSIONER REPORT GIVEN BY COMMISSIONER JANET ANDERSEN. COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR ANNOUNCED HE IS RETIRING FEBRUARY 28, 2024. TALKED ABOUT BROADBAND FOR THE COUNTY. ASSESSOR NANCY VANDERVEST REPORTED ON TOWNSHIP BOARD ADOPTING THE RESOLUTION TO ADOPT POVERTY EXEMPTION GUIDELINES AND ASSET TEST. BOARD OF REVIEW MEETING DATES FOR NEXT YEAR. THE CONSUMER INDEX PRICE AT 7.9%, BECAUSE OF PROPOSAL A, IS CAPPED AT 1 1/2 %, IT WILL BE 5% OR 1.05. THIS IS THE HIGHEST CONSUMER PRICE INDEX THAT HAS BEEN RELEASED SINCE THE PASSING OF PROPOSAL A IN 1994. JEROME MADE A MOTION TO ADOPT THE POVERTY EXEMPTION INCOME GUIDELINES FOR ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS , NOT WITHSTANDING THE VALUE OF THE PROPERTY, IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR TAX EXEMPTIONS, UNDER PULIC ACT 390 OF 1994 (MCL.2117u); THE VALUE OF ALL ADDITIONAL ASSETS SHALL NOT EXCEED 1 1/2 TIMES THE ANUNAL HOUSEHOLD INCOME OF THE APPLICANT. LEAVING A BALANCE OF $317,363.85 ON 11/30/22. CHECKING ACCOUNT BALANCE REMAINS AT $300.00 ON 11/30/22. PERPETUAL CARE CERTIFICATE BALANCE REMAINS AT $62,821.14 ON 11/30/22. PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT FUND BALANCE REMAINS AT $292,216.59 ON 11/30/22. HALL RESERVATION FUND BALANCE ON 10/31/22 WAS $1,120.36, NO RECEIPTS, NO DISBURSEMENTS, INTEREST WAS .04 cents, LEAVING A BALANCE OF $1,120.40 ON 11/30/22. TAX ACCOUNT BALANCE ON 10/31/22 WAS $9,934.78, RECEIPTS FOR NOVEMBER WERE $2,463.37, NO DISBURSEMENTS, NO INTEREST, BALANCE OF $12,398.15 ON 11/30/22. TREASURERS REPORT ACCEPTED AS PRESENTED. TJ THOMPSON WITH COMMUNITY INPUT, ATTENDED OUR MEETING. HIS ORGANIZATION ATTENDS MEETINGS HELD IN THE STATE, TO SEE WHAT THE COMMUNITY NEEDS ARE IN DIFFERENT AREAS. JIM REPORTED THAT HE HAD RECEIVED A COPY FROM TOWNSHIP ATTORNEY, NEIL JANSEN’S RESPONSE TO THE JUDGES REQUEST ON THE REVERTER CLAUSE, AND, CARLOS ALVARADO’S RESPONSE, AND, MR. JANSENS CLOSING ARGUMENTS. NOW WE WAIT TO HEAR FROM JUDGE SNIEGOWSKI. MOTION TO ADJOURN AT 6:55 PM |
