REGULAR BOARD MEETING
OCTOBER 5, 2020 (PROPOSED MINUTES)
MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER AT 6PM BY SUPERVISOR JIM MAZUR, ALL BOARD MEMBERS WERE PRESENT, EGELER, GEERS, PAPES, KESLING. WE HAD FOUR GUEST ATTEND. MINUTES WERE APPROVED AS PRESENTED. SHERIFF KIM COLE GAVE THE SHERIFF’S REPORT FOR AUGUST AND SEPTEMBER. COUNTY COMMISSIONER JANET ANDERSEN GAVE THE COUNTY REPORT. THE COUNTY HAS A BUDGET OF $14,328,000.00, APPROVED A 5 YEAR PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT PLAN. WORKING ON CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PLAN FOR AIRPORT. RECEIVED A GRANT FOR HAZARD PAY FOR THE SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT DUE TO COVID-19, WORKING ON THE PROJECT FOR THE ROSS DRAIN. MASTER PLAN FOR PUBLIC HEARING HAS NOT BEEN SET YET. JEROME MADE A MOTION TO APPROVE PAYMENT FOR BILLS SUBMITTED FOR SEPTEMBER. BOB SECONDED MOTION CARRIED TREASURER REPORTED THAT THE MONEY MARKET FUND BALANCE ON 8/31/20 WAS $182,805.98, RECEIPTS FOR SEPTEMBER WERE $18,281.35, INTEREST WAS $34.43, DISBURSEMENTS WERE $12,760.04. LEAVING A BALANCE OF $188,361.72 ON 9/30/20. CHECKING ACCOUNT BALANCE REMAINS AT $300.00 ON 9/30/20. PERPETUAL CARE CERTIFICATE BALANCE REMAINS AT $62,821.14 ON 9/30/20. PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT FUND BALANCE REMAINS AT $232,007.31 ON 9/30/20. HALL RESERVATION FUND BALANCE ON 8/31/20 WAS $1,119.15. NO RECEIPTS, NO DISBURSEMENTS, INTEREST WAS .04 CENTS. LEAVING A BALANCE OF $1,119.19 ON 9/30/20. TAX SAVINGS ACCOUNT BALANCE ON 8/31/20 WAS $90,115.91, RECEIPTS FOR SEPTEMBER WERE $302,900.61, DISBURSEMENTS WERE $287,392.07, INTEREST WAS $4.65. LEAVING A BALANCE OF $105,629.10 ON 9/30/20. TREASURERS REPORT ACCEPTED AS PRESENTED CLERK REPORTED ON UPCOMING GENERAL ELECTIONS ABSENT VOTER REQUEST. JIM REPORTED THAT THERE IS A SETTLEMENT CONFERENCE AT THE COURTHOUSE SET FOR OCTOBER 14, 2020 AT 1:30. HE HAS TO TALKE TO ATTORNEY TO SEE WHO CAN ATTEND. SARTO BOATHOUSE ON VICTORY TOWNSHIP PARK PROPERTY CASE. MILLERTON ROAD IS STILL BEING WORKED ON. THE TOWNSHIP RECEIVED A BILL FOR A NEW CULVERT PUT IN ON FOUNTAIN ROAD FOR $27,693.58. THE TOWNSHIP DIDN’T HAVE ANY NOTICE THAT THIS BILL WAS COMING. JIM WENT TO THE ROAD COMMISSION MEETING AND EXPLAINED THAT WE NEVER GOT A NOTICE OF THIS WORK, AND THAT WE WERE GOING TO BE BILLED FOR IT. THE ROAD COMMISSION BOARD VOTED NOT TO CHARGE THE TOWNSHIP. The Mason County Road Commission is announcing that seasonal weight and speed restrictions are going into effect Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at 7 am until further notice. All County roads will be restricted by reducing the maximum axle load by 35% per axle and truck speeds to 35 mph.
Weight and Speed Restrictions are enforced to minimize the damage caused during the Michigan’s seasonal thaw.

Victory Township will be looking into updating our web site in the upcoming future. We will be looking into possible new ADA(American Disability Act) requirements as well as updating pictures,cemetery ordinance,etc. Any thoughts or ideas on what anyone would like to see added are welcome.
