MARCH 2, 2020 (PROPOSED MINUTES)
MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER AT 6 PM BY SUPERVISOR JIM MAZUR, BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT WERE BOB KESLING, JEROME PAPES, BARBARA EGELER. PATTI GEERS WAS ABSENT, WE HAD NINE GUEST ATTEND. MINUTES WERE APPROVED AS PRESENTED. SHERIFFS REPORT WAS GIVEN BY SHERIFF KIM COLE. 18 CALLS IN THE TOWNSHIP. THE COUNTY APPROVED A PART-TIME OFFICER FOR SUMMER MARINE PATROL. COUNTY COMMISSIONER JANET ANDERSEN GAVE THE COUNTY REPORT. APPROVED LABOR AGREEMENT WITH CORRECTIONS STAFF. APPROVED APPLICANT S FOR SEVERAL COUNTY WIDE BOARDS. DISCUSSED 2ND AMENDMENT , THE COUNTY BOARD WAS APPROACHED BY A GROUP WANTING THE COUNTY BOARD TO REAFFIRM THE 2ND AMENDMENT, ALSO TALKED ABOUT SANCTUARY COUNTY. ALSO, TALKED ABOUT RED FLAG LAW ( A LAW THAT LETS SOMEONE TURN IN A INDIVIDUAL WHOM THEY THINK MAY HAVE A MENTAL OR DOMESTIC ISSUE, ETC. AND, THINKS THEIR GUNS, WEAPONS SHOULD BE TEMPORAIRLY REMOVED FROM THEM. ) MIKE INGISON MASON COUNTY ROAD COMMISSIONER REPORTED ON COUNTY STRATEGIC PLAN 2030, OF WHICH VICTORY TOWNSHIP CAN BE FOUND IN APPENDIX 15. SUPERVISORS, COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WILL BE GIVEN A COPY. AND, THEN IT WILL BE PUBLISHED IN THE PAPER. JEROME MADE A MOTION TO APPROVE PAYMENT OF BILLS. BOB SECONDED MOTION CARRIED CLERK READ THE TREASURERS REPORT, MONEY MARKET FUND BALANCE ON 1-31-20 WAS $272,829.28, RECEIPTS FOR FEBRUARY WERE $181.45, INTEREST WAS $163.00, DISBURSEMENTS WERE $10,176.94. LEAVING A BALANCE OF $262,996.79 ON 2-29-20. CHECKING ACCOUNT BALANCE REMAINS AT $300.00 ON 2-29-20. PERPETUAL CARE CERTIFICATE BALANCE REMAINS AT $62,821.14 ON 2-29-20. PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT FUND REMAINS AT $131,005.61. HALL RESERVATION FUND BALANCE ON 1-31-20 WAS $1,118.79, RECEIPTS FOR FEBRUARY WERE $30.00, DISBURSEMENTS WERE $30.00, INTEREST WAS .07 CENTS. LEAVING A BALANCE OF $1,118.86 ON 2-29-20. TAX ACCOUNT BALANCE ON 1-31-20 WAS $165,796.13, RECEIPTS FOR FEBRUARY WERE $382,791.48, DISBURSEMENTS WERE $330,946.44, INTEREST WAS $267.77. LEAVING A BALANCE OF $217,908.94 ON 2-29-20. TREASURERS REPORT ACCEPTED AS PRESENTED. JIM ANNOUNCED THAT FRANK REDMOND STEPPED DOWN FROM THE BOARD OF REVIEW. JIM MADE A MOTION TO MAKE KARRIE ROSSO A BOARD OF REVIEW BOARD MEMBER, BOB SECONDED MOTION CARRIED JEROME MADE A MOTION TO HAVE TED RADTKE BECOME AN ALTERNATE BOARD OF REVIEW MEMBER. The December 7th township board meeting is cancelled due to Cocid-19 concerns. Please read the notice below.
Michigan law imposes on the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) a duty to continually and diligently endeavor to “prevent disease, prolong life, and promote public health,” and gives the Department “general supervision of the interests of health and life of people of this state.” MCL 333.2221. MDHHS may “[e]xercise authority and promulgate rules to safeguard properly the public health; to prevent the spread of diseases and the existence of sources of contamination; and to implement and carry out the powers and duties vested by law in the department.” MCL 333.2226(d).

I will be mailing out the absentee voter ballots that I have received applications for on 9/21/20,please fill out and return to me via mail or I have a secure drop box on the south end of my back porch. Due to the large volume of ballots, please return them to me as soon as you can. Then I can get them processed into the Qualified Voter File System on the Bureau of elections’ website. SCOTTVILLE — The Mason County Road Commission has announced that seasonal weight and speed restrictions have been lifted as of March 30th 2020

Ditching of Fisher Rd. from Peterson Rd. west to township line (approx. 1 mile)
Ditching and gravel _Millerton Rd. west of US 31 (approx. 1/4 mile)
Victory Township will be looking into updating our web site in the upcoming future. We will be looking into possible new ADA(American Disability Act) requirements as well as updating pictures,cemetery ordinance,etc. Any thoughts or ideas on what anyone would like to see added are welcome.
