REGULAR BOARD MEETING
FEBRUARY 3, 2020 (PROPOSED MINUTES) MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER AT 6 PM BY SUPERVISOR JIM MAZUR. BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT WERE CLERK BARBARA EGELER, TRUSTEE JEROME PAPES, TREASURER PATTI GEERS, TRUSTEE BOB KESLING. WE HAD 8 GUEST ATTEND. MINUTES WERE APPROVED AS PRESENTED. SHERIFFS REPORT WAS GIVEN BY SHERIFF KIM COLE. MASON COUNTY ROAD COMMISSIONER REPORT GIVEN BY MIKE INGISON. ROAD COMMISSION PURCHASED A DOUBLE ROLLER FOR ASPHALT. GAVE A REPORT ON THE MTF (MICHIGAN TRANSPORTATION FUND) DISTRIBUTION FORMULA TO LOCAL ROAD AGENCIES. HOUSE FISCAL AGENCY WEBSITE (GOOD WEBSITE TO GO TO SEE WHERE THE TAX DOLLARS ACTUALLY COME FROM FOR ROADS) www.house.mi.gov/hfa PHONE NUMBER (517) 373-8080. COUNTY COMMISSIONER JANET ANDERSEN GAVE THE COUNTY REPORT. THERE WAS A GRANT GIVEN FOR A VETERANS ADMINISTRATOR, THIS HAD BEEN TAKEN AWAY WHEN THE GOVERNOR DID BUDGET CUTS. BUT, AFTER RECEIVING THIS NEW GRANT THE COUNTY CAN PUT THE VETERANS ADMINISTRATOR BACK TO WORK. TOWNSHIP RESIDENT WAYNE ANDERSEN WAS APPOINTED TO THE PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD. BARB TOLD THE BOARD THAT THE BUDGET NEEDED TO BE AMENDED AGAIN TO COVER THE COST OF THE ATTORNEY FEES , $5000.00 TO BE TAKEN FROM THE CONTINGENCY FUND AND PUT IN 101-101-801 PROFESSIONAL SERVICES. JEROME MADE A MOTION TO AMEND THE BUDGET, AND TO APPROVE PAYMENT OF BILLS. BOB SECONDED MOTION CARRIED TREASURER REPORTED THAT THE MONEY MARKET FUND BALANCE ON 12/31/19 WAS $269,945.38, RECEIPTS FOR JANUARY WERE $26,342.29, INTEREST WAS $187.63, DISBURSEMENTS WERE $23,646.02. LEAVING A BALANCE OF $272,829.28 ON 1/31/20. CHECKING ACCOUNT BALANCE REMAINS AT $300.00 ON 1/31/20. PERPETUAL CARE CERTIFICATE BALANCE REMAINS AT $62,821.14 ON 1/31/20. PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT FUND BALANCE REMAINS AT $131,005.61 ON 1/31/20. HALL RESERVATION FUND BALANCE ON 12/31/19 WAS 1,118.72, RECEIPTS FOR JANUARY WERE $230.00, DISBURSEMENTS WERE $230.00. INTERNEST WAS .07 CENTS, LEAVING A BALANCE OF $1,118.79 ON 1/31/20. TAX SAVINGS ACCOUNT BALANCE ON 12/31/19 WAS 298,993.95, RECEIPTS FOR JANUARY WERE $244,062.77, DISBURSEMENTS WERE $377,522.76, INTEREST WAS $262.17, LEAVING A BALANCE OF $165,796.13 ON 1/31/20. TREASURERS REPORT ACCEPTED AS PRESENTED. JEROME MADE A MOTION THAT THE TOWNSHIP GIVE THE ASKED AMOUNT OF $550.00 DONATION TO GO TO THE ANNUAL HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE DISPOSAL, HELD ON AUGUST 15, 2020. BOB SECONDED MOTION CARRIED JIM REPORTED ON THE SARTO BOATHOUSE ON VICTORY PARK PROPERTY, COURT CASE. WE ARE WAITING ON JUDGE SNYGOWSKI’S DECISION. MEETING DATE FOR BUDGET PREP WILL BE MARCH 19, 2020 AT 4:30. BUDGET HEARING TO ADOPT THE 2020-2021 FISCAL YEAR BUDGET WILL BE MARCH 31, 2020 AT 4:30. THE MEETING DATES FOR THE NEXT FISCAT YEAR WILL BE AS FOLLOWS: APRIL 6, 2020 MAY 4, 2020 JUNE 1, 2020 JULY 6, 2020 AUGUST 3, 2020 SEPTEMBER 14, 2020 OCTOBER 5, 2020 NOVEMBER 2, 2020 DECEMBER 7, 2020 JANUARY 4, 2021 FEBRUARY 1, 2021 MARCH 1, 2021 ALL MEETINGS ARE AT 6PM THE AUGUST MEETING WILL BE AT VICTORY PARK WEATHER PERMITTING @ 5PM WITH A PICNIC , AND THE MEETING FOLLOWING. SALARY RESOLUTIONS ARE AS FOLLOWS: JIM ASKED FOR $25.00 A MONTH. BARB MADE THE MOTION FOR SUPERVISORS WAGE TO RAISE $25.00 A MONTH. PATTI SECONDED ROLL CALL VOTE: YEAHS: BARB, PATTI, JEROME, BOB, JIM NAYS: NONE MOTION CARRIED BARB ASKED FOR A 3% RAISE. BOB MADE A MOTION FOR THE CLERKS WAGE TO RAISE 3% 28.50 A MONTH.
