REGULAR BOARD MEETING
(PROPOSED MINUTES) OCTOBER 7, 2019
MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER AT 6 PM BY SUPERVISOR JIM MAZUR, ALL BOARD MEMBERS WERE PRESENT: CLERK BARBARA EGELER, TRUSTEE JEROME PAPES, TRUSTEE BOB KESLING, TREASURER PATTI GEERS. WE HAD NINE GUEST ATTEND. MINUTES WERE APPROVED AS PRESENTED. MIKE INGISON GAVE THE MASON COUNTY ROAD COMMISSION REPORT. THEY ARE GETTING READY FOR WINTER, GETTING SALT, SAND STOCK PILED. GETTING THE BLADES READY FOR THE SNOW TRUCKS. SHERIFF KIM COLE GAVE THE SHERIFF’S REPORT. JEROME MADE A MOTION TO APPROVE PAYMENT OF BILLS. BOB SECONDED MOTION CARRIED TREASURER REPORTED THAT THE MONEY MARKET FUND BALANCE ON 8-31-19 WAS $313,877.15, RECEIPTS FOR SEPTEMBER WERE $22,500.00, INTEREST WAS $203.19, AND DISBURSEMENTS WERE $18,600.11. LEAVING A BALANCE OF $317,980.23 ON 9-30-19. CHECKING ACCOUNT BALANCE REMAINS AT $300.00 ON 9-30-19. PERPETUAL CARE CERTIFICATE BALANCE REMAINS AT $62,821.14 ON 9-30-19. PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT FUND BALANCE REMAINS AT $127,851.91 ON 9-30-19. HALL RESERVATION FUND BALANCE ON 8-31-19 WAS $1,118.44, RECEIPTS FOR SEPTEMBER WERE $120.00, DISBURSEMENTS WERE $120.00, INTEREST WAS .07 CENTS. LEAVING A BALANCE OF $1,118.51 ON 9-30-19. TAX SAVINGS ACCOUNT BALANCE ON 8-31-19 WAS $70,884.10, RECEIPTS FOR SEPTEMBER WERE $296,035.50, DISBURSEMENTS WERE $126,539.71, INTEREST WAS $259.47. LEAVING A BALANCE OF $240,639.36 ON 9-30-19. TREASURERS REPORT ACCEPTED AS PRESENTED.
JIM REPORTED THAT HE AND DON WILES WORKED THE MASON COUNTY JUNK AUTHORITY SCRAP TIRE COLLECTION. THE AUTHORITY COLLECTED 969 TIRES. THEY HAD A VERY SUCCESSFUL DAY, AND A VERY DIRTY ONE. JIM WANTED TO SAY THANK YOU TO THE MASON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE FOR LETTING SOME OF THE JAIL TRUSTEE’S WORK THE COLLECTION. ALSO, THE ROAD COMMISSION FOR LETTING THE JUNK AUTHORITY USE THEIR FACILITY FOR THE COLLECTION. COUNTY COMMISSIONER JANET ANDERSEN GAVE THE COUNTY REPORT, GOVERNER WHITMER VETOES 147 LINE ITEMS. SEVERAL OF THESE VETOS AFFECTED OUR COUNTY, AT A COST OF $243,000.00. THE MASON COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WILL BE WORKING ON BUDGET AMENDMENTS. JANET TALKED ABOUT SOME POSSIBLE NEW BUSINESS INTEREST COMING TO MASON COUNTY.

MASON COUNTY EARLY VOTING SITE #2 WILL BE HELD AT: CUSTER TOWNSHIP HALL 1950 E. US HIGHWAY 10 CUSTER, MI 49405 DATE: AUGUST 6, 2024 TIME: 8:00 PM In compliance with MCL 168.720j, you are hereby informed of the details regarding the Precinct Canvas of Early Votes. The Precinct Canvas of Early Votes is the culmination of the 9 days of early voting and is when the board completes the tabulation of ballots and reports the results of the ballots cast during the Early Voting period. |
The Mason County Junk authority is hosting a scrap tire collection day September 28th. Hours will be from 9AM until Noon or until the trailer is filled. Victory Township is part of the Junk Authority and that allows us to participate in this event. They have secured a single semi-trailer this year and once its full the event is over. You are allowed to bring 4 tires for FREE and after that it is $3 per tire. Passenger vehicle tires only, no wheels, commercial, tractor, semi or industrial tires. Event to be held at the Mason County Road commission building in Scottville. There may be help on site but be patient or be prepared to unload your own tires and place them in the trailer.
