MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER AT 6 PM BY SUPERVISOR JIM MAZUR, BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT WERE CLERK BARB EGELER, TRUSTEE BOB KESLING, TRUSTEE JEROME PAPES, AND TREASURER PATTI GEERS. WE HAD SEVEN GUEST ATTEND.
MINUTES WERE APPROVED AS PRESENTED.
SHERIFF’S REPORT WAS GIVEN BY SHERIFF KIM COLE.
TREASURER REPORTED THAT THE MONEY MARKET FUND BALANCE ON 4-30-19 WAS $214,154.87. RECEIPTS FOR MAY WERE $85,249.51, DISBURSEMENTS WERE $14,622.21. LEAVING A BALANCE OF $284,782.17 ON 5-31-19.
CHECKING ACCOUNT BALANCE IS NOW $300.00, AS PETTY CASH WAS DEPOSITED IN TO THE GENERAL FUND, AND THEN MOVED TO THE CHECKING ACCOUNT BALANCE AS OF 5-31-19.
PERPETUAL CARE CERTIFICATE BALANCE REMAINS AT $62,821.14 ON 5-31-19.
PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT FUND BALANCE REMAINS AT $127,851.91 ON 5-31-19.
HALL RESERVATION FUND BALANCE ON 4-30-19 WAS $ $1,118.09, RECEIPTS FOR MAY WAS $90.00, DISBURSEMENTS WERE $90.00, INTEREST WAS .07 CENTS. LEAVING A BALANCE OF $1,118.16 ON 5-31-19.
TAX SAVINGS ACCOUNT BALANCE REMAINS AT .00 ON 5-31-19.
THE TREASURER HAS BEEN HAVING ON GOING PROBLEM WITH HER FRONTIER ACCOUNT, WHICH IS HER TOWNSHIP INTERNET AND PHONE. THE FIRST PART OF 2019 THEY RAISED THE BILL SOME $20.00, AND AFTER HER CALLING AND TALKING FOR HOURS, THEY SAID THEY WOULD ADJUST IT BACK. THIS SAME THING HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR MONTHS. AFTER MUCH DISCUSSION WITH THE BOARD AND THOSE IN ATTENDANCE AT THE MEETING, SHE IS GOING TO CHECK INTO MAYBE CANCELING FRONTIER SINCE THEY CANNOT GET THEIR BILLING CORRECT.
TREASURERS REPORT ACCEPTED AS PRESENTED.
CLERK REPORTED THAT WINN WOLF HAD SUBMITTED ALL INFORMATION AND CHECK FOR HIS DOCK PERMIT.
JIM MADE A MOTION TO APPROVE A DOCK PERMIT FOR WINN WOLF. JEROME SECONDED
JIM REPORTED THAT HE HAS HIRED RICHARD WILSON TO REPRESENT THE TOWNSHIP. KATE GLANCY HAS BEEN REPRESENTING THE TOWNSHIP, BUT SHE INFORMED JIM THEIR OFFICE IS MOVING TO TRAVERSE CITY. THE TOWNSHIP HAS HAD TO HIRE COUNSEL BECAUSE AFTER HAVING A NEW SURVEY DONE AT VICTORY PARK, THERE WAS A STRUCTURE THAT HAS BEEN BUILT ON TOWNSHIP PARK PROPERTY, AND THE PERSON WHO BUILT IT HAS SAID HE WILL NOT REMOVE IT.
JIM WOULD LIKE TO PUBLICLY THANK BRIDGET RADER FOR DOING THE MONUMENT AT VICTORY PARK, IT WAS TOLD TO JIM THAT SHE HAS BEEN THE ONE THAT HAS BEEN TAKING CARE OF IT.
FIRST BRINE WAS DONE ABOUT ONE WEEK BEFORE MEMORIAL DAY, AND HE IS HOPING THE PIGGY BACK BRINE CAN HOLD OFF UNTIL JUST BEFORE JULY 4TH. TIME WILL TELL.
MASON COUNTY JUNK AUTHORITY WILL BE DOING A TIRE CLEAN UP IN SEPTEMBER,
COUNTY COMMISSIONER JANET ANDERSEN GAVE THE COUNTY REPORT. JIM WINCEK IS THE VETERANS SERVICE OFFICER FOR MASON COUNTY.

The April 4th meeting will be held in-person @6:00 pm at Victory townhall. Face coverings are still required.
The Victory Township 2021 spring clean-up is scheduled for May 15th 9 am till noon. Because of covid-19 concerns volunteer help will be limited so residents must be able to unload their own refuse. Residents will be limited to one regular sized pick-up or small trailer load to prevent creating hazardous traffic back-up conditions along Stiles Rd. Residents are also urged to box or bundle their refuse to expedite unloading. Further details will be provided on the web site,Mason County Press,Ludington Daily News,and facebook after our April board meeting.
The Mason County Road Commission is announcing that seasonal weight and speed restrictions will be lifted effect Thursday, April 1, 2021 at 6 a.m.
Weight and speed restrictions are enforced to minimize the damage caused during Michigan’s seasonal thaw.
