FEBRUARY 4, 2019 (PROPOSED MINUTES) MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER AT 6 PM BY SUPERVISOR JIM MAZUR, BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT WERE CLERK BARBARA EGELER, TRUSTEE BOB KESLING, TRUSTEE JEROME PAPES, TREASURER PATTI GEERS, WE HAD NINE GUEST ATTEND. MINUTES WERE APPROVED AS PRESENTED. SHERIFF’S REPORT WAS GIVEN BY SHERIFF KIM COLE. JIM MADE A MOTION TO AMEND THE BUDGET, TAKING $5,900.00 FROM THE CONTINGENCY FUND AND MOVING IT TO THE 101-101-801 PROFESSIONAL SERVICES FUND, FOR THE SURVEY THAT WAS DONE AT VICTORY PARK. JEROME SECONDED MOTION CARRIED JEROME MADE A MOTION TO APPROVE PAYMENT OF BILLS. BOB SECONDED MOTION CARRIED TREASURER REPORTED THAT THE MONEY MARKET FUND BALANCE ON 12-31-18 WAS $153,208.50, RECEIPTS FOR JANUARY WERE $657.29, DISBURSEMENTS WERE $11,638.52. LEAVING A BALANCE OF $142,227.27 ON 1-31-19. PETTY CASH AND CHECKING ACCOUNT BALANCES REMAIN AT $100.00 AND $200.00 ON 1-31-19. PERPETUAL CARE CERTIFICATE BALANCE ON 12-31-18 WAS $62,821.14, AND REMAINS THE SAME ON 1-31-19. PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT FUND BALANCE ON 12-31-18 WAS $127,851.91, AND REMAINS THE SAME ON 1-31-19. HALL RESERVATION FUND BALANCE ON 12-31-18 WAS $1,117.81, RECEIPTS FOR JANUARY WERE $100.00, DISBURSEMENTS WERE $100.00, INTEREST WAS .07 CENTS. LEAVING A BALANCE OF $1,117.88 ON 1-31-19. TAX SAVINGS ACCOUNT BALANCE ON 12-31-18 WAS $293,602.65, RECEIPTS FOR JANUARY WERE $316,990.51, DISBURSEMENTS WERE $530,855.76, INTEREST WAS $246.05. LEAVING A BALANCE OF $79,983.45 ON 1-31-19. TREASURERS REPORT ACCEPTED AS PRESENTED. MOTION WAS MADE BY JIM TO APPROVE THE $550.00 FUNDS, THAT WERE REQUESTED FOR THE ANNUAL HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION. SECONDED BY BOB MOTION CARRIED JIM MADE A MOTION THAT VICTORY TOWNSHIP ADOPT ORDINANCE NO: 1-2019 THE PROHIBITION OF RECREATIONAL MARIHUANA ESTABLISHMENTS . VICTORY TOWNSHIP HEREBY PROHIBITS ALL RECREATIONAL MARIHAUNA ESTABLISHMENTS WITHIN THE BOUNDAIRES OF THE TOWNSHIP PURSUANT TO INITIATED LAW 1 OF 2018, MCL 333.27951, et seq., AS MAY BE AMENDED. TO TAKE EFFECT 30 DAYS AFTER PUBLICATION. JEROME SECONDED MOTION CARRIED COUNTY COMMISSIONER JANET ANDERSEN GAVE THE COUNTY REPORT. THE BUDGET PREP MEETING WILL BE HELD AT 4:30 ON MARCH 18, 2019, THE BUDGET HEARING WILL BE HELD ON MARCH 21, 2019 AT 4:30. SALARIE RESOLUTIONS WERE MADE AS FOLLOWS: BARB MADE A MOTION TO RAISE THE SUPERVISORS WAGE TO $8424.00 PER YEAR. The April 4th meeting will be held in-person @6:00 pm at Victory townhall. Face coverings are still required.
The Victory Township 2021 spring clean-up is scheduled for May 15th 9 am till noon. Because of covid-19 concerns volunteer help will be limited so residents must be able to unload their own refuse. Residents will be limited to one regular sized pick-up or small trailer load to prevent creating hazardous traffic back-up conditions along Stiles Rd. Residents are also urged to box or bundle their refuse to expedite unloading. Further details will be provided on the web site,Mason County Press,Ludington Daily News,and facebook after our April board meeting.
The Mason County Road Commission is announcing that seasonal weight and speed restrictions will be lifted effect Thursday, April 1, 2021 at 6 a.m.
Weight and speed restrictions are enforced to minimize the damage caused during Michigan’s seasonal thaw.
