REGULAR BOARD MEETING
AUGUST 5, 2019 (PROPOSED MINUTES)
MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER AT 6 PM BY SUPERVISOR JIM MAZUR. ALL BOARD MEMBERS WERE PRESENT. JEROME PAPES , BARBARA EGELER, BOB KESLING AND PATTI GEERS. WE HAD 24 PEOPLE ATTEND. WE HAD THE TOWNSHIPS ANNUAL PICNIC AT VICTORY PARK, PRIOR TO THE REGULAR BOARD MEETING. MINUTES WERE APPROVED AS PRESENTED. SHERIFF’S REPORT WAS GIVEN BY SHERIFF KIM COLE.. KIM ANSWERED QUESTIONS ABOUT THE TRESPASSING THAT HAD TAKEN PLACE ON SOME OF THE PROPERTIES CLOSE TO THE PARK THE PRIOR WEEKEND. BOB MADE A MOTION TO APPROVE PAYMENT OF BILLS, JEROME SECONDED MOTION CARRIED TREASURER REPORTED THAT THE MONEY MARKET FUND BALANCE ON 6-30-19 WAS $308,637.86, RECEIPTS FOR JULY WERE $ 21,704.42, DISBURSEMENTS WERE $10,923.60, INTEREST WAS $310.51. LEAVING A BALANCE OF $319,729.19 ON 7-31-19. CHECKING ACCOUNT BALANCE REMAINS AT $300.00 ON 7-31-19. PERPETUAL CARE CERTIFICATE BALANCE REMAINS AT $62,821.14 ON 7-31-19. PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT FUND BALANCE REMAINS AT $127,851.91 ON 7-31-19. HALL RESERVATION FUND BALANCE WAS $1,118.23 ON 6-30-19, RECEIPTS FOR JULY WERE $150.00, DISBURSEMENTS WERE $150.00, INTEREST WAS .14 CENTS. LEAVING A BALANCE OF $1,118.37 ON 7-31-19. TAX SAVINGS ACCOUNT BALANCE WAS .00 ON 6-30-19, RECEIPTS FOR JULY WERE $129,827.89. DISBURSEMENTS WERE $29,722.73, INTEREST WAS $23.29. LEAVING A BALANCE OF $100,128.45 ON 7-31-19. TREASURERS REPORT ACCEPTED AS PRESENTED. JIM REPORTED THAT HE HAD DONE A WALK AROUND VICTORY PARK WITH VICKI SAWICKI WITH NORTH COUNTRY CISMA. THEY WERE LOOKING FOR INVASIVE PLANT SPECIES. THEY FOUND SEVERAL, THIS IS A FREE SERVICE THAT INCUDES THE REMOVAL AND TREATMENT TO RID THE AREA OF THESE PLANTS. PLM HAS DONE TWO WATER TREATMENTS AT THE PARK, AND THEY ARE DOING ONE MORE NEXT WEEK. MIKE INGISON WITH THE MASON COUNTY ROAD COMMISSION CAME TO THE MEETING TO GIVE REPORTS ON THE ROADS. MIKE ANSWERED SEVERAL QUESTIONS. AND, THOSE THAT HE DIDN’T HAVE THE ANSWERS FOR, HE SAID HE WOULD FIND THE ANSWERS , AND GET BACK TO US. HE SAID HE WILL TRY TO ATTEND THE BOARD MEETINGS., KEEPING US INFORMED. COUNTY COMMISSIONER JANET ANDERSEN GAVE THE COUNTY REPORT. MOTION TO ADJOURN AT 7:08 PM.

MASON COUNTY EARLY VOTING SITE #2 WILL BE HELD AT: CUSTER TOWNSHIP HALL 1950 E. US HIGHWAY 10 CUSTER, MI 49405 DATE: AUGUST 6, 2024 TIME: 8:00 PM In compliance with MCL 168.720j, you are hereby informed of the details regarding the Precinct Canvas of Early Votes. The Precinct Canvas of Early Votes is the culmination of the 9 days of early voting and is when the board completes the tabulation of ballots and reports the results of the ballots cast during the Early Voting period. |
The Mason County Junk authority is hosting a scrap tire collection day September 28th. Hours will be from 9AM until Noon or until the trailer is filled. Victory Township is part of the Junk Authority and that allows us to participate in this event. They have secured a single semi-trailer this year and once its full the event is over. You are allowed to bring 4 tires for FREE and after that it is $3 per tire. Passenger vehicle tires only, no wheels, commercial, tractor, semi or industrial tires. Event to be held at the Mason County Road commission building in Scottville. There may be help on site but be patient or be prepared to unload your own tires and place them in the trailer.
