REGULAR BOARD MEETING
APRIL 8, 2019 (PROPOSED MINUTES)
MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER AT 6 PM BY SUPERVISOR JIM MAZUR, BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT WERE CLERK BARB EGELER, TRUSTEE JEROME PAPES, TREASURER PATTI GEERS, TRUSTEE BOB KESLING. WE HAD FOUR GUEST ATTEND. MINUTES WERE APPROVED AS PRESENTED. SHERIFFS REPORT WAS GIVEN BY SHERIFF KIM COLE. KIM TALKED ABOUT THE CODERED PROGRAM MASON COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT HAS SET THIS PROGRAM UP, IT IS COUNTY WIDE, ANY ONE INTEREST SHOULD GO TO THE MASONCOUNTY.NET WEBSITE, OR CALL THE MASON COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT OFFICE, AND INQUIRE. COUNTY COMMISSIONER JANET ANDERSEN GAVE THE COUNTY REPORT. TREASURER REPORTED THAT THE MONEY MARKET FUND BALANCE ON 2-28-19 WAS $137,335.33, RECEIPTS FOR MARCH WERE $84,461.15, DISBURSEMENTS WERE $8,044.24. LEAVING A BALANCE OF $213,752.24 ON 3-31-19. PETTY CASH AND CHECKING ACCOUNT BALANCES REMAIN AT $100.00 AND $200.00 ON 3-31-19. PERPETUAL CARE CERTIFICATE BALANCE REMAINS AT $62,821.14 ON 3-31-19. PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT FUND BALANCE REMAINS AT $127,851.91 ON 3-31-19. HALL RESERVATION FUND BALANCE ON 2-28-19 WAS $1,117.95, RECEIPTS FOR MARCH WERE $30.00, DISBURSEMENTS WERE $30.00, INTEREST WAS .07 CENTS. LEAVING A BALANCE OF $1,118.02 ON 3-31-19. TAX SAVINGS ACCOUNT BALANCE ON 2-28-19 WAS$189,733.09, RECEIPTS WERE .00, DISBURSEMENTS WERE $189,900.42, INTEREST WAS $167.33. LEAVING A BALANCE OF .00 ON 3-31-19. TREASURERS REPORT ACCEPTED AS PRESENTED. JEROME MADE A MOTION TO APPROVE DOCK PERMITS FOR LUCIUS BECK AND EDWIN STOUT. BOB SECONDED MOTION CARRIED THERE IS A NON PERMITTED STRUCTURE ON VICTORY PARK PROPERTY, AFTER DISCUSSING WITH TOWNSHIP ATTORNEY, JIM WAS TOLD TO DISCUSS WITH THE BOARD ON EVERYONES OPINON ON NEXT STEP TO TAKE. AND, AFTER DISCUSSING THIS: A MOTION WAS MADE THAT THE STRUCTURE HAS TO BE REMOVED TO HELP PREVENT FUTURE CLAIMS ALONG THE NORTH LAKESHORE. SECONDED. The April 4th meeting will be held in-person @6:00 pm at Victory townhall. Face coverings are still required.
The Victory Township 2021 spring clean-up is scheduled for May 15th 9 am till noon. Because of covid-19 concerns volunteer help will be limited so residents must be able to unload their own refuse. Residents will be limited to one regular sized pick-up or small trailer load to prevent creating hazardous traffic back-up conditions along Stiles Rd. Residents are also urged to box or bundle their refuse to expedite unloading. Further details will be provided on the web site,Mason County Press,Ludington Daily News,and facebook after our April board meeting.
The Mason County Road Commission is announcing that seasonal weight and speed restrictions will be lifted effect Thursday, April 1, 2021 at 6 a.m.
Weight and speed restrictions are enforced to minimize the damage caused during Michigan’s seasonal thaw.
