REGULAR BOARD MEETING
MAY 6, 2019 (PROPOSED MINUTES)
MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER AT 6 PM BY SUPERVISOR JIM MAZUR, BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT WERE TRUSTEE JEROME PAPES, CLERK BARB EGELER, TRUSTEE BOB KESLING, TREASURER PATTI GEERS, WE HAD TWELVE GUEST ATTEND. MINUTES WERE APPROVED AS PRESENTED. THERE WAS NO SHERIFF’S REPORT, SHERIFF WAS OUT OF TOWN. BOB MADE A MOTION TO APPROVE PAYMENT OF BILLS , JEROME SECONDED MOTION CARRIED TREASURER REPORTED THAT THE MONEY MARKET FUND BALANCE ON 3-31-19 WAS $213,752.24, RECEIPTS FOR APRIL WERE $ 7,038.16, DISBURSEMENTS WERE $6,756.96. LEAVING A BALANCE OF $214,033.44 ON 4-30-19. PETTY CASH AND CHECKING ACCOUNT BALANCES REMAIN AT $100.00 AND $200.00 ON 4-30-19. PERPETUAL CARE CERTIFICATE BALANCE REMAINS AT $62,821.14 ON 4-30-19. PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT FUND BALANCE REMAINS AT $127,851.91 ON 4-30-19. HALL RESERVATION FUND BALANCE ON 3-31-19 WAS $1,118.02, THERE WERE NO RECEIPTS FOR APRIL, AND NO DISBURSEMENTS FOR APRIL, INTEREST WAS .07 CENTS. LEAVING A BALANCE OF $1,1118.09 ON 4-30-19. TAX SAVINGS ACCOUNT BALANCE REMAINS AT .00 FOR 4-30-19. TREASURERS REPORT ACCEPTED AS PRESENTED PATTI MADE A MOTION TO MOVE THE $100.00 IN PETTY CASH THAT THE TREASURER HAS ON HAND FOR MAKING CHANGE WHEN COLLECTING TAXES, TO THE CHECKING ACCOUNT BALANCE, KEEPING A TOTAL OF $300.00 IN CHECKING, FOR AUTO WITH DRAWALS, LIKE GREAT LAKES ENERGY, AND FRONTIER. JEROME SECONDED MOTION CARRIED JEROME MADE A MOTION TO APPROVE DOCK PERMIT FOR CHUCK STOUT, BOB SECONDED MOTION CARRIED BOB MADE A MOTION TO APPROVE THE CITY OF LUDINGTON WATER SYSTEM FRANCHISE #2-2019. JEROME SECONDED MOTION CARRIED LOGGING OF TOWNSHIP PROPERTY WILL START NEXT WEEK ON THE GROTH ROAD TOWNSHIP PROPERTY. JEROME MADE AMOTION TO APPROVE THE ANNUAL FINANCIAL REPORT. BOB SECONDED MOTION CARRIED TODD VIRGO HERE TO REPRESENT THE RESIDENTS WHO LIVE ON THE END OF MILLERTON ROAD GOING TO PRIVATE ROAD, HE SAID RIGHT OFF OF THE HIGHWAY GOING ONTO MILLERTON NEEDS SOME MAJOR WORK, DEEP HOLES HAVING TO DRIVE IN PEOPLES YARDS, ETC. JIM SAID HE WOULD CONTACT JOSH PETERSEN AND GET IT LOOKED INTO. COUNTY COMMISSIONER JANET ANDERSEN ABSENT, HAD TO ATTEND A SPECIAL MEETING. THE COMMISSIONERS ARE HAVING TO FILL A POSITION LEFT VACANT FROM THE PASSING OF WALLY TARANKO. MOTION TO ADJOURN AT 6:38 PM. |
The April 4th meeting will be held in-person @6:00 pm at Victory townhall. Face coverings are still required.
The Victory Township 2021 spring clean-up is scheduled for May 15th 9 am till noon. Because of covid-19 concerns volunteer help will be limited so residents must be able to unload their own refuse. Residents will be limited to one regular sized pick-up or small trailer load to prevent creating hazardous traffic back-up conditions along Stiles Rd. Residents are also urged to box or bundle their refuse to expedite unloading. Further details will be provided on the web site,Mason County Press,Ludington Daily News,and facebook after our April board meeting.
The Mason County Road Commission is announcing that seasonal weight and speed restrictions will be lifted effect Thursday, April 1, 2021 at 6 a.m.
Weight and speed restrictions are enforced to minimize the damage caused during Michigan’s seasonal thaw.
