Regular Board Meeting April 7, 2025
- The meeting was called to order at 6:00 pm by Supervisor Bob Board members present were Clerk Sarah Grabowski, Trustee Wayne Andersen, Treasurer Patti Geers. Absent Papes. There were 17 guests in attendance.
- A motion was made by Andersen with support from Geers to approve the March minutes as Motion Carried.
- Township Assessor Nancy Vandervest gave the 2025 Assessment recap (See Attachment 1)
- Sherriff Kim Cole reported there were 19 Calls in February and 18 in
- County Commissioner Janet Andersen gave county Scottville Office will move to airport, Chill grant is progressing; John O’Connor is now the Interim Emergency Manager.
- A motion was made by Andersen with support from Kesling to approve the payment of March bills totaling $7,620.68. Motion carried.
- A motion was made by Andersen with support from Grabowski to accept the Treasurers Report as presented. Motion carried (See Attachment 2)
- Township Clerk requested to purchase QuickBooks as the Township accounting A motion was made by Kesling with support from Andersen to spend up to $3800.00 for the purchase and consultation of setting up QuickBooks.
A motion was made by Grabowski with support from Andersen to allow the planting of extra trees from the annual Mason-Lake Conservation District Tree Sale at Victory Park. Dani McGarry or Josh Shields will oversee volunteers. Motion Carried.
Township Clerk also asked if we could move the April 2026 Meeting to The Budget Hearing to be held March 31st
- Township Supervisor Kesling made a motion with support from Grabowski to accept the Hazardous Mitigation Plan as presented by the Emergency Management Department. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Kesling with support from Andersen to spend up to $9500.00 to put a temporary wall up on the stage. Note 1: This is pending the outcome of the second bid that is to be forth coming. Note 2: the wall is to be put up with minimal disturbance to the existing structure. Motion carried.
Kesling inquired with the Board of Elections about one drop box for ballots and tax payments, it is acceptable to only have drop box.
- Trustee nothing to report
- Public comment – Concern about retain wall and washouts at Victory Concern about ownership of Lake Frontage on North side of Hamlin Lake.
Patrick Weise a representative of The Mason County Rural Fire Authority introduced himself and explained they are seeking 2Mill in the August election.
- Township clean-up is May 17th from 9:00am to 12:00pm
Motion to Adjourn by Andersen supported by Grabowski @ 6:58pm. Motion carried.
