REGULAR BOARD MEETING
JUNE 4, 2018 (PROPOSED MINUTES) MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER AT 6 PM BY SUPERVISOR JIM MAZUR, BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT WERE : TREASURER GEERS, CLERK EGELER, TRUSTEE PAPES, TRUSTEE KESLING, WE HAD ELEVEN GUEST ATTEND. MINUTES WERE APPROVED AS PRESENTED. SHERIFF’S REPORT WAS GIVEN BY SHERIFF KIM COLE. BOB MADE A MOTION TO APPROVE PAYMENT OF BILLS. JEROME SECONDED MOTION CARRIED TREASURER REPRTED THAT THE MONEY MARKET FUND BALANE ON 4-30-18 WAS $189,768.40, RECEIPTS WERE $719.62, DISBURSEMENTS WERE $13,560.43, LEAVING A BALANCE ON 5-31-18 OF $176,927.59. PETTY CASH $100.00 AND CHECKING ACCOUNT $200.00 BALANCES REMAIN THE SAME ON 5-31-19 . PERPETUAL CARE CERTIFICATE BALANCE REMAINS AT $62,821.14 ON 5-31-18. PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT FUND BALANCE REMAINS AT $126,662.80 ON 5-31-18. HALL RESERVATION FUND BALANCE ON 4-30-18 WAS $1,117.25. RECEIPTS WERE $60.00, DISBURSEMENTS WERE $60.00, INTEREST WAS .07 CENTS. LEAVING A BALANCE OF $1,117.32 ON 5-31-18. TAX SAVINGS ACCOUNT BALANCE REMAINS AT .00 ON 5-31-18. TREASURERS REPORT ACCEPTED AS PRESENTED. CLERK NOTED THAT REQUEST FOR DOCK PERMITS FOR EDWIN STOUT AND CHUCK STOUT, ALL PAPER WORK UP TO DATE, NEED A MOTION TO APPROVE DOCK PERMITS. JIM MADE A MOTION TO APPROVE DOCK PERMITS FOR EDWIN STOUT, AND CHUCK STOUT. JEROME SECONDED MOTION CARRIED JIM REPORTED THAT A SITE SUMMARY FOR WOODLANDS IN VICTORY TOWNSHIP WAS DONE BY JOSH SHIELDS PH.D. HE IS A MASON LAKE CONSERVATION FORESTER. A FEW RECCOMENDATIONS WERE MADE ABOUT RED PINES ON PARCEL OF LAND ON GROTH ROAD. AND, ALSO TALKED ABOUT SOME OF THE TREES AT VICTORY PARK. NEW ZONING DIRECTOR BRADY SELNER, TOLD JIM THAT JUNK ORDINANCE VIOLATION LETTERS HAVE BEEN SENT OUT. JIM THANKED BOB KESLING SR. FOR THE GOOD JOB HE DID AT NORTH VICTORY CEMETERY REMOVING A VERY LARGE DEAD TREE. WE HAD CONTRACTED WITH ANOTHER COMPANY, AND THEY KEPT CANCELING. SO, BOB SAID HE WOULD DO THE JOB, FOR THE SAME QUOTED PRICE THAT WAS GIVEN BY OTHE OTHER CONTRACTOR, TURNED INTO OUR INSURANCE, AND APPROVED. JIM MADE A MOTION THAT BOB KESLING SR. WITH B&M TRANSMISSION TAKE OUT TWO TREES AT VICTORY PARK FOR $800.00. JEROME SECONDED MOTION CARRIED AFTER BOARD DISSCUSSION, PUBLIC COMMENT & MTA’S OPINION CONCERNING GRANT TOWNSHIP’S REQUEST TO CONTRIBUTE TO NURNBERG ROAD PAVING OF 1900 FEET, IT WAS AGREED NOT TO CONTRIBUTE FUNDS. A LETTER WILL BE SENT TO GRANT TOWNSHIP WITH OUR DECISION AND MTA’S OPINION. THE BOARD IS LOOKING INTO THE POSSIBILITY OF GETTING THE SPEED LIMIT REDUCED TO 25 MPH THROUGH THE MARQUETTE HILLS SUBDIVISION BECAUSE OF COMPLAINTS OF EXCESSIVE SPEEDS.
