REGULAR BOARD MEETING
NOVEMBER 6, 2017 (PROPOSED MINUTES)
MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER AT 6 PM BY SUPERVISOR JIM MAZUR. BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT WERE : CLERK BARB EGELER, TRUSTEE JEROME PAPES, TREASURER PATTI GEERS. TRUSTEE BOB KESLING WAS ABSENT , WE HAD ELEVEN GUEST ATTEND. MINUTES WERE APPROVED AS PRESENTED. SHERIFF’S REPORT WAS GIVEN BE SHERIFF KIM COLE. PAUL OLSON WITH MUNICIPAL UNDERWRITERS OF WEST MICHIGAN THE TOWNSHIP PAR PLAN, CAME TO THE MEETING TONIGHT TO SEE IF THE TOWNSHIP HAD ANY QUESTIONS OR ISSUES THAT HE COULD ADDRESS, PAUL HAS BEEN WITH THE TOWNSHIP FOR OVER TWENTY-TWO YEARS, COVERING OUR TOWNSHIPS INSURANCE NEEDS. JIM MADE A MOTION TO AMEND THE TOWNSHIP BUDGET, MOVING $4,000.00 FROM THE CONTINGENCY FUND TO THE TOWNSHIP BOARD 101-101 FUND. JEROME SECONDED MOTION CARRIED JIM MADE A MOTION TO APPROVE PAYMENT OF OCTOBER BILLS. JEROME SECONDED MOTION CARRIED TREASURER REPORTED THAT THE MONEY MARKET FUND BALANCE ON 9-30-17 WAS $103,082.41. RECEIPTS WERE $85,389.72, DISBURSEMENTS WERE $98,186.92. LEAVING A BALANCE ON 10-31-17 OF $90,285.21. PETTY CASH AND CHECKING ACCOUNT BALANCES REMAIN AT $100.00 AND $200.00 ON 10-31-17. PERPETUAL CARE CERTIFICATE BALANCE REMAINS AT $62,821.14 ON 10-31-17. PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT FUND BALANCE ON 9-30-17 WAS $210,855.87. $50,000.00 CD MATURED FROM FIFTH THIRD $9.60 INTEREST, ANOTHER $50,000.00 CD MATURED FROM FIFTH THIRD, INTEREST WAS $9.60. AND , A THIRD CD MATURED FROM PREFERRED CREDIT UNION, INTEREST WAS 250.83. BETWEEN THE THREE CDS AND THE INTEREST, $84,463.10 WAS PUT INTO THE GEN FUND TO PAY FOR THE N. VICTORY CORNER ROAD PROJECT. AND, A NEW CD WAS PURCHASED FROM FIFTH THIRD FOR $65,894.94. THIS LEAVES A BALANCE OF $126,662.80 ON 10-31-17. HALL RESERVATION FUND BALANCE ON 9-30-17 WAS $1,116.91. RECEIPTS FOR OCTOBER WERE $130.00, DISBURSEMENTS WERE $130.00, INTEREST WAS .04 CENTS. LEAVING A BALANCE OF $1,116.95. ON 10-31-17. TAX SAVINGS ACCOUNT BALANCE WAS $17,787.62 ON 9-30-17, RECEIPTS FOR OCTOBER WERE $5,635.68, DISBURSEMENTS WERE $10,074.67. THERE WAS NO INTEREST REPORTED AT THIS TIME, LEAVING A BALANCE OF $13,348.63 ON 10-31-17. TREASURERS REPORT ACCEPTED AS PRESENTED PATTI MADE A MOTION TO ACCEPT A DONATION FROM TOM COLEMAN OF CURTAINS, VALANCES, AND THE CURTAIN RODS FOR THE TOWNHALL TOP FLOOR. TOM THOUGHT THAT IT WOULD LOOK NICE AND ALSO HELP THE ACOUSTICS IN THE HALL DURING THE MEETINGS. BARB SECONDED MOTION CARRIED JIM REPORTED THAT BOB KESLING NOTICED THAT A HANDRAIL BRACKET ON THE NEW DECKING WAS CRACKING. AFTER, CLOSER INSPECTION, JIM FOUND THAT THERE WERE 16. AFTER CONTACTING THE CONTRACTOR, COTTAGE WORKS WHO DID THE WORK, AND, THEY CONTACTED CARTER LUMBER, WE WERE TOLD THAT THE WRONG SIZE BRACKET HAD BEEN ORDERED . THE MATTER IS BEING REMEDIED. WAYNE ANDERSEN DONATED A SIGN TO THE TOWNSHIP, SHOWING BOAT LAUNCHES ON HAMLIN LAKE. AND, WHAT SIZE LAUNCH FOR DIFFERENT SIZE BOATS. MASON COUNTY COMMISSIONER JANET ANDERSEN GAVE HER COUNTY REPORT.
