REGULAR BOARD MEETING
DECEMBER 4, 2017 (PROPOSED MINUTES)
MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER AT 6PM BY SUPERVISOR JIM MAZUR, BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT WERE CLERK BARB EGELER, TRUSTEE JEROME PAPES, TREASUSRER PATTI GEERS, AND TRUSTEE BOB KESLING. WE HAD ELEVEN GUEST ATTEND. MINUTES WERE APPROVED AS PRESENTED. TOWNSHIP ASSESSOSR NANCY VANDERVEST ATTENDED OUR MEETING, SHE SAID THE TOWNSHIP HAS TO APPROVE A RESOLUTION FOR POVERTY EXEMPTION GUIDELINES . JIM MADE A MOTION TO ADOPT THE RESOLUTION FOR POVERTY EXEMPTION GUIDELINES FOR ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS, NOTWITHSTANDING THE VALUE OF THE PROPERTY, IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR TAX EXEMPTIONS UNDER MCL 211 .7u, THE VALUE OF ALL ADDITIONAL ASSETS SHALL NOT EXCEED 1 1/2 TIMES THE ANNUAL HOUSEHOLD INCOME OF THE APPLICANT. JEROME SECONDED MOTION CARRIED JIM MADE A MOTION TO APPROVE THE BOARD OF REVIEW SCHEDULE AS FOLLOWS: ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING MARCH 6, 2018 AT 6:30 PM AT THE TOWNHALL. MARCH 19, 2018 AT 9:00 AM to 12:00 NOON, AND, 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. AT THE TOWNHALL MARCH 20, 2018 AT 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, AND, 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. AT THE TOWNHALL JULY 17, 2018, 6:30 PM AT THE TOWNHALL DECEMBER 11, 2018, 6:30 PM AT THE TOWNHALL. JEROME SECONDED MOTION CARRIED SHERIFF’S REPORT WAS GIVEN BY SHERIFF KIM COLE. BOB MADE A MOTION TO APPROVE PAYMENT OF BILLS, JEROME SECONDED MOTION CARRIED TREASURER REPORTED THAT THE MONEY MARKET FUND BALNCE ON 10-31-17 WAS $90,285.21. RECEIPTS FOR NOVEMBER WERE $22,380.16. DISBURSEMENTS WERE $9,518.14. LEAVING A BALANCE ON 11-30-17 OF $103,147.23. PETTY CASH AND CHECKING ACCOUNT BALANCES REMAIN AT $100.00 AND $200.00 ON 11-30-17. PERPETUAL CARE CERTIFICATE BALANCE REMAINS AT $62,821.14 ON 11-30-17. PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT FUND BALANCE REMAINS AT $126,662.80 ON 11-30-17. HALL RESERVATION FUND BALANCE ON 10-31-17 WAS $1,116.95. RECEIPTS FOR NOVEMBER WERE $90.00, DISBURSEMENTS WERE $90.00, INTEREST WAS .05 CENTS. LEAVING A BALANCE ON 11-30-17 OF $1,117.00. TAX SAVINGS ACCOUNT BALANCE ON 10-31-17 WAS $13,348.63. RECEIPTS FOR NOVEMBER WERE $4,716.63, DISBURSEMENTS WERE $7,912.80, NO INTEREST AT THIS TIME. LEAVING A BALANCE ON 11-30-17 OF $10,152.46. TREASURERS REPORT ACCEPTED AS PRESENTED. PATTI ALSO THANKED TOM COLEMAN , PATTI AND TOM GOT TOGETHER AND PICKED OUT CURTAINS FOR THE HALL, TOM WANTED TO DONATE THE CURTAINS, IN HOPES OF IT LOOKING BETTER, AND THE ACOUSTICS IN THE HALL WILL BENEFIT. JIM TALKED TO TERESA SWIST WHO IS ASSOCIATED WITH MASON COUNTY MUTTS, CAME TO THE MEETING AND TALKED ABOUT USING THE GORDON ROAD BALL PARK THE TOWNSHIP OWNS, FOR A DOG PARK. WE HAVE HAD VANDALISM OUT AT THE PROPERTY, SO IF IT IS BEING USED, AT LEAST SOMEONE WILL BE KEEPING AN EYE ON THE PROPERTY. JIM MADE A MOTION THAT AFTER HE CLEARS IT WITH INSURANCE AGENT PAUL OLSON, THAT WE LET MASON COUNTY MUTTS USE THE GORDON ROAD PROPERTY FOR A DOG PARK. BOB SECONDED MOTION CARRIED JIM AND BOB MET WITH THE ROAD COMMISSION, THEY TALKED ABOUT A 3-5 YEAR PLAN FOR THE ROADS. THEY ALSO HAVE CHANGED SOME OF THE COST SHARING PRICES. JIM SAID IT WAS A GOOD MEETING. COUNTY COMMISSIONER JANET ANDERSEN GAVE THE COUNTY REPORT. MOTION TO ADJOURN AT 7:00 PM. |

MASON COUNTY EARLY VOTING SITE #2 WILL BE HELD AT: CUSTER TOWNSHIP HALL 1950 E. US HIGHWAY 10 CUSTER, MI 49405 DATE: AUGUST 6, 2024 TIME: 8:00 PM In compliance with MCL 168.720j, you are hereby informed of the details regarding the Precinct Canvas of Early Votes. The Precinct Canvas of Early Votes is the culmination of the 9 days of early voting and is when the board completes the tabulation of ballots and reports the results of the ballots cast during the Early Voting period. |
The Mason County Junk authority is hosting a scrap tire collection day September 28th. Hours will be from 9AM until Noon or until the trailer is filled. Victory Township is part of the Junk Authority and that allows us to participate in this event. They have secured a single semi-trailer this year and once its full the event is over. You are allowed to bring 4 tires for FREE and after that it is $3 per tire. Passenger vehicle tires only, no wheels, commercial, tractor, semi or industrial tires. Event to be held at the Mason County Road commission building in Scottville. There may be help on site but be patient or be prepared to unload your own tires and place them in the trailer.
