WHEREAS, THE TOWNSHIP CLERK IS RESPONSIBLE FOR CONDUCTING ELECTIONS IN VICTORY TOWNSHIP; ANS WHEREAS, MCL 168.679(a) PROVIDES THE ELECTION COMMISSION OF A TOWNSHIP SHALL, BY RESLOUTION, PROVIDE THAT AT AN ELECTION AT WHICH THE BALLOTS ARE COUNTED AND CERTIFIED AT THE PRECINCT, 1 OR MORE ADDITIONAL BOARDS OF ELECTION INSPECTORS BE APPOINTED TO SERVE AS RECEIVING BOARDS; AND WHEREAS, THE VICTORY TOWNSHIP RECEIVING BOARD IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DUTIES AS OUTLINED IN SECTION 168.679(a) OF THE MICHIGAN ELECTION LAW (ARTICLE 116 OF 1954); AND WHEREAS; THE BOARD OF ELECTION COMMISSIONERS SHALL APPOINT TWO OR MORE ELECTION INSPECTORS, WITH AN

BOB MADE A MOTION THAT WE ALLOW MICHIGAN ICE FISHING TOURNEY MAKE USE OF VICTORY PARK FOR 2012 TOURNAMENT. JEROME SECONDED MOTION CARRIED
JIM ASKED GARY DITTMER FROM MASON COUNTY ROAD COMMISSION TO ATTEND THE MEETING AND TALK ABOUT COST SHARING OF ROAD PROJECTS. ACT 51 STATES THAT LOCAL ROADS HAVE A 50% COST SHARE WITH TOWNSHIPS OR OTHERS.ROAD PROJECT IMPROVEMENTS IS A 60/40% SHARE TOWNSHIPS HAVING THE 60%. BRINING IS 100% THE TOWNSHIPS COST,FOR MATERIALS ONLY, THE ROAD COMMISSION TAKES CARE OF THE LABOR END. TALKED ABOUT STILES ROAD, AND THE UNEVENESS OF THE ROAD. RIETH-RILEY IS GOING TO TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEM YET THIS YEAR.
DECEMBER 12TH THERE WILL BE A MUTE SWAN MEETING AT VICTORY TOWNSHIP HALL, WITH HAMLIN AND GRANT TOWNSHIPS ALSO.

Will be taking a road tour with the road commission to determine 2020 rd. projects-residents are welcome to notify the township board of ideas or trouble spots
The recent scrap tire pick-up day by the Mason County Junk Authority held in Sept. accumulated 969 tires with Victory Township residents bringing in 325 tires.
Victory Township will be looking into updating our web site in the upcoming future. We will be looking into possible new ADA(American Disability Act) requirements as well as updating pictures,cemetery ordinance,etc. Any thoughts or ideas on what anyone would like to see added are welcome. Contact me for your thoughts.
