REGULAR BOARD MEETING

MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER AT 7PM BY CLERK BARB EGELER, BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT WERE JIM MAZUR, JEROME PAPES AND PATTI GEERS. WE HAD 12 GUESTS ATTEND.
AFTER THE PLEDGE TO THE FLAG, CLERK EGELER ANNOUNCED WITH THE PASSING OF OUR SUPERVISOR RUSSELL ANDERSEN, THE BOARDS INTENTION WAS TO APPOINT JIM MAZUR TO FILL THE POSITION OF SUPERVISOR UNTIL THE END OF THISTERM.
JEROME MADE A MOTION TO APPOINT JIM MAZUR AS TOWNSHIP SUPERVISOR. BARB SECONDED

SHERIFF’S REPORT WAS GIVEN BY SHERIFF JEFF FIERS.
JEROME MADE A MOTION TO APPROVE PAYMENT OF BILLS IN THE AMOUNT OF $12,606.70. AND , ALSO APPROVE NEW
SUPERVISORS WAGE RETRO ACTIVE TO 4-17-12. BARB SECONDED
TREASURER REPORTED THAT THE MONEY MARKET FUND BALANCE ON 3-31-12 WAS $247,126.41. RECEIPTS FOR APRIL
WERE $17,395.20. DISBURSEMENTS WERE $12,606.70. LEAVING A BALANCE ON 4-30-12 OF $251,914.91.
PETTY CASH AND CHECKING ACCOUNT BALANCES REMAIN THE SAME ON 4-30-12.
PERPETUAL CARE CERTIFICATE BALANCE REMAINS AT $62,821.14 ON 4-30-12.
PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT FUND BALANCE REMAINS AT $242,082.50 ON 4-30-12.
VICTORY TOWNSHIP HALL RESERVATION FUND BALANCE ON 3-31-12 WAS $1,112.58. THERE WERE NO DEPOSITS OR
DISBURSEMENTS FOR MARCH, INTEREST WAS .23 CENTS. LEAVING A BALANCE ON 4-30-12 OF $1,112.81.
VICTORY TAX SAVINGS ACCOUNT BALANCE REMAINS AT .00 ON 4-30-12.
TREASURERS REPORT ACCEPTED AS PRESENTED.
JEROME MADE A MOTION TO ACCEPT BOAT DOCK PERMITS FROM NEIL STOUT, CHUCK STOUT, LUCIUS BECK.
JEROME MADE A MOTION TO ACCEPT THE ANNUAL FINANCIAL REPORT. PATTI SECONDED
JEROME AND JIM ARE CHECKING INTO A TOWNSHIP TIRE CLEANUP.
JIM IS GOING TO MEET WITH GARY DITTMER AND DISCUSS ROAD CONTRACTS.
TRISTAN SCRIBNER IS HERE TO GIVE UPDATE ON VICTORY PARK PROJECT HE IS DOING FOR HIS EAGLE SCOUT BADGE. THE
TRAILS HAVE BEEN CLEARED. THERE ARE THREE TRAILS BLUE, GREEN, RED. THEY ALSO PUT THE POST IN.
WAYNE ANDERSEN GAVE HIS REPORT ON THE PARK PROGRESS. HE ASKED FOR APPROVAL FOR THREE BENCHES FOR ALONG THE TRAILS. THERE WILL BE A 32 x 32 SIGN AT THE TRAILHEAD . HE SHOWED US A PRELIMINARY DESIGN FOR PARKING AREA FROM SCOTT CIVIL ENGINEERING (TOM COLEMAN’S CONTACTS) ESTIMATED FEES AT $2,400.00.

PLANS AND COST ESTIMATES FOR VICTORY PARK. BARB SECONDED
BARB MADE A MOTION TO APPOINT ROBERT KESLING AS TRUSTEE, TO FILL THE BALANCE ON THIS TERM. JEROME
SECONDED MOTION CARRIED

Victory Township will be looking into updating our web site in the upcoming future. We will be looking into possible new ADA(American Disability Act) requirements as well as updating pictures,cemetery ordinance,etc. Any thoughts or ideas on what anyone would like to see added are welcome. Contact me for your thoughts.

Suzanne S. of Sunset Bluff Resort organized a meeting about nuisance lake vegetation affecting Upper Hamlin Lake. Two biologist from The Little River Band of Ottawa Indians (Allison Smart and Josh Beaulaurier ) were asked to attend . After much discussion Brian Zimmerman(property owner in Hamlin Shoals) suggested a boating channel marked by buoys be established from Hamlin Shoals to the Meyer Road line. The idea is to have concentrated boater traffic through that channel to keep the vegetation in check.
After the meeting Wayne Andersen contacted MDEQ,MDNR,&Mason County Sheriff Marine patrol regarding the proposal. All agencies feel this is a viable solution to establish a navigable boater route. Brian Zimmerman(property owner in Hamlin Shoals)agreed to plot the coordinates of the channel by GPS the weekend of Oct.5-7th.Feel free to provide input to this preliminary proposal.

All meeting are open to public .Please note that no hearings will be held at the Organizational meeting.
The Board of Review will hear appeals on March 19th and March 20st 2018.
