REGULAR BOARD MEETING
JANUARY 6, 2011
MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER AT 7:00 PM BY SUPERVISOR RUSSELL ANDERSEN. ALL BOARD MEMBERS WERE PRESENT: CLERK EGELER, TREASURER GEERS, TRUSTEE’S PAPES AND MAZUR. WE HAD EIGHT GUEST ATTEND.
MINUTES WERE APPROVED AS PRESENTED.
SHERIFF’S REPORT WAS GIVEN BY SHERIFF JEFF FIERS.
JEROME MADE A MOTION TO APPROVE PAYMENT OF DECEMBER BILLS IN THE AMOUNT OF $9,820.43. ALSO, INCLUDED A JANUARY DISBURSEMENT TO COFESSCO AND OCEANA COUNTY CHAPTER OF MTA FOR BOARD OF REVIEW SCHOOL. JIM SECONDED MOTION CARRIED
TREASURER REPORTED THAT THE MONEY MARKET FUND BALANCE ON 11-30-10 WAS $233,141.90. RECEIPTS FOR DECEMBER WERE $16,693.10, DISBURSEMENTS WERE $9,820.43. LEAVING A BALANCE ON 12-31-10 OF $240,014.57.
PETTY CASH BALANCE REMAINS AT $100.00 ON 12-31-10.
CHECKING ACCOUNT BALANCE REMAINS AT $200.00 ON 12-31-10.
PERPETUAL CARE CERTIFICATE BALANCE REMAINS AT $62,821.14 ON 12-31-10.
PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT FUND BALANCE REMAINS AT $201,090.54 ON 12-31-10.
VICTORY TOWNSHIP HALL RESERVATION FUND BALANCE ON 11-30-10 WAS $1,108.83. THERE WERE NO RECEIPTS AND NO DISBURSEMENTS FOR DECEMBER. INTEREST WAS .24 CENTS. LEAVING A BALANCE ON 12-31-10 OF $1,109.07.
VICTORY TAX SAVINGS ACCOUNT BALANCE ON 11-30-10 WAS $6,461.23. DEPOSITS FOR DECEMBER WERE $390,136.91. TOTAL DISBURSEMENTS WERE $63,714.31. INTEREST WAS $21.37. LEAVING A BALANCE ON 12-31-10 OF $332,905.20. TREASURERS REPORT ACCEPTED AS PRESENTED.
WAYNE ANDERSEN REPORTED ON VICTORY PARK. A SINGLE ARM SWING GATE WAS INSTALLED AT THE MONUMENT ENTRANCE OF THE PARK. TRUSTEE JIM MAZUR MADE AND INSTALLED THIS GATE. WAYNE MADE A SUGGESTION TO HAVE ANOTHER SIMILAR GATE PUT AT THE BASE OF THE HILL, WHERE THE BATH HOUSE USE TO BE, AND HAVE IT OPENED FOR FOOT TRAFFIC ONLY. THIS WILL KEEP ATV’S , MOTOR VEHICLE’S ETC. OFF THE HILL. ALSO, HE TALKED TO TOM JOHNSON (PARK CARETAKER) ABOUT MOWING THE OLD BASEBALL FIELD DURING THE FOURTH OF JULY FOR PARKING. WAYNE SAID THAT A WETLANDS
DETERMINATION STUDY IS GOING TO BE DONE.
RUSSELL SENT A THANK YOU CARD TO THE FIN AND FEATHER CLUB, FOR THE $500.00 DONATION THEY HAD GIVEN TO VICTORY PARK FOR THE DOCK.

Victory Township will be looking into updating our web site in the upcoming future. We will be looking into possible new ADA(American Disability Act) requirements as well as updating pictures,cemetery ordinance,etc. Any thoughts or ideas on what anyone would like to see added are welcome. Contact me for your thoughts.

Suzanne S. of Sunset Bluff Resort organized a meeting about nuisance lake vegetation affecting Upper Hamlin Lake. Two biologist from The Little River Band of Ottawa Indians (Allison Smart and Josh Beaulaurier ) were asked to attend . After much discussion Brian Zimmerman(property owner in Hamlin Shoals) suggested a boating channel marked by buoys be established from Hamlin Shoals to the Meyer Road line. The idea is to have concentrated boater traffic through that channel to keep the vegetation in check.
After the meeting Wayne Andersen contacted MDEQ,MDNR,&Mason County Sheriff Marine patrol regarding the proposal. All agencies feel this is a viable solution to establish a navigable boater route. Brian Zimmerman(property owner in Hamlin Shoals)agreed to plot the coordinates of the channel by GPS the weekend of Oct.5-7th.Feel free to provide input to this preliminary proposal.

All meeting are open to public .Please note that no hearings will be held at the Organizational meeting.
The Board of Review will hear appeals on March 19th and March 20st 2018.
