MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER AT 6 PM BY SUPERVISOR JIM MAZUR, BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT WERE CLERK BARB EGELER, TRUSTEE JEROME PAPES, TRUSTEE BOB KESLING, AND TREASURER PATTI GEERS, WE HAD SIX GUEST ATTEND. MINUTES WERE APPROVED AS PRESENTED. SHERIFF’S REPORT GIVEN BY SHERIFF KIM COLE. COUNTY REPORT GIVEN BY COUNTY COMMISSIONER JANET ANDERSEN. DALE GOODRICH WITH RURAL FIRE AUTHORITY, CAME AND DISCUSSED MONEY ISSUES THAT THE AUTHORITY IS HAVING WITH KEEPING UP WITH MANDATES FOR EQUIPMENT TO TRUCKS, TO BUILDING NEEDS, TO WAGES, ETC. JEROME MADE A MOTION TO PAY BILLS, INCLUDING A DECEMBER BILL FOR THE GRADING AND ROAD IMPROVING AT VICTORY PARK GOING UP TO THE VETERANS MONUMENT. SPECIAL MEETING CALLED TO ORDER AT 6PM FOR THE PURPOSE OF LETTING THE PUBLIC KNOW THAT THE TOWNSHIP IS CONSIDERING SELLING THE TOWNSHIP PROPERTY LOCATED ON ANDERSEN AND GROTH ROADS. AND, TO GET ANY INPUT FROM THE PUBLIC. TRUSTEE BOB KESLING HAS SPENT A LOT OF TIME GETTING ALL THE PAPER WORK IN ORDER FOR DOING THIS SALE. WE HAD 13 PEOPLE ATTEND, 12 LETTERS WERE SENT OUT TO THE ADJACENT PROPERTY OWNERS THREE WEEKS PRIOR TO THE MEETING, AND A NOTICE WAS PUBLISHED IN THE PAPER TWICE. AFTER BOB EXPLAINED ALL THE LEGAL STEPS TAKEN, AND THE REASON TO PUT THE PROPERTY UP FOR SALE, THE MEETING WAS OPEN FOR PUBLIC COMMENT. NO ONE OBJECTED TO THE SALE OF THE PROPERTY, THEY MORE OR LESS JUST WANTED TO KNOW HOW WE WERE GOING TO SELL IT, WE SAID THAT WE WOULD BE GOING THROUGH A REALTOR TO MAKE SURE EVERYONE HAD AN EQUAL CHANCE TO MAKE AN OFFER. REQUEST, (A COUPLE OF DAYS AFTER OUR LAST RESPONSE TO DEFENDANTS MOTION FOR SUMMARY DISPOSITION, IN COURT ) FROM AN INTERESTED PARTY OF THE LAW SUIT “VICTORY PARK v SARTO” HE REQUESTED THE TOTAL AMOUNT THE TOWNSHIP HAS HAD TO PAY IN FEES SINCE THIS LAW SUIT HAS STARTED. AT THIS TIME IT IS $54,953.67, THIS IS PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE. BY THE WAY, THE DEFENDANTS MOTION WAS DENIED BY THE JUDGE AT THE COURT DATE ON 10/6/21. THIS ALL STARTED IN LATE 2018 WHEN JIM NOTICED SOME TREES BEING CUT ACROSS THE LAKE FROM THE PARK, AND HE WASN’T SURE THAT THIS WASN’T PART OF VICTORY PARK. SO, HE CAME TO THE BOARD ABOUT IT, AND IT WAS DECIDED TO HAVE THE PARK SURVEYED AGAIN. THIS IS WHEN THE SURVEYORS FOUND THE BOATHOUSE ON VICTORY PARK PROPERTY, THIS BOATHOUSE CAN NOT BE SEEN FROM THE PARK, YOU HAVE TO BE ON THE LAKE AND GOING ALONG THE LAKE SHORE. SHERIFF KIM COLE GAVE THE SHERIFFS REPORT. THERE WAS A TOWNSHIP RESIDENT THAT HAD CALLED THE CLERK COMPLAING ABOUT A NOISE AND HARRASSMENT COMPLAINT OF HIS NEIGHBORS. THE CLERK TOLD HIM THAT THE SHERIFF COMES TO MOST ALL MEETINGS, THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THE TOWNSHIP BOARD COULD REALLY DO ABOUT IT. AFTER SOME CALLING AROUND, AND TRYING TO GET THIS RESOLVED, THE CLERK FOUND THE OTHER PARTY, AND TOLD THEM TO ALSO COME TO THE MEETING AND TALK TO THE SHERIFF AND TRY TO GET THE ISSUES RESOLVED CALMLY BETWEEN THE PARTIES INVOLVED.
